Matte Black Serving Platters
A one-of-a-kind texture matte black serving platter from local ceramicist Nancy Green. Soda firing is a process where the ceramic material is heated to temperature in a (usually) gas-fired kiln. Towards the end of the firing, a super-saturated solution of sodium carbonate is sprayed into the kiln, leaving you with incredible texture and depth.
